My take on eyelash enhancement treatments

Hello everybody!

Eyes are our windows to the outside world and they provide others with glimpses into our inner thoughts and feelings. I am lucky enough that I was born with long lashes, but just like most of the girls, taking a special care of the beauty of my eyelashes and trying to add to their allure is my number one beauty interest.

Having said this, it is not a secret that I tried most of the eyelash growth, volumizing, and curling treatments out there, from semi-permanent eyelash extension, LVL treatment, to using eyelash growth serum.

In this post I will compare between both treatments and share with you my thoughts about them and my take on each one of them.

  1. LVL eyelash treatment:

LVL stands for length, volume, and lifting. The idea of LVL eyelash treatment is simple, a therapist uses a setting serum to straighten your natural lashes at the root (making them look curled up), and then your lashes are tinted, creating the appearance of mascara.

45 min to 60 min None From AED 250 – AED 400 Avoid water touching your eyelashes for the next 24 hours. –          Looks supernatural, as if you haven’t done anything to your eyelashes.

–          Treatment providers tell you the results can last for 6 weeks. In my case they only lasted for 10 days or less.

–          No risk of your own eyelashes falling because of this treatment.

–          Normal mascara usually gives me more visible results in terms of eyelash curl and colour.

  1. Semi-permanent eyelash extension:

My favourite eyelash extension hack since 2011! There is more than one type of lash extensions, including: synthetic, silk, and mink. Size availability ranges from 6mm to 20mm. Once selected, the lashes are applied one at a time using special glue that is formulated in a way that will not irritate the eye.

Up to 2 hours None From AED 250 – AED 600 Avoid water touching your eyelashes for the next 24 hours. –          It is called fake lashes, so you don’t expect your eyelashes to look natural! Everyone will know you have done something ‘beautiful’ to your eyelashes.

–          Lasts for 2 – 4 weeks, if you take good care of them. You can do refills, up to 2 to 3 times, so one set can last up to 3 months with refill sessions.

–          Saves time and effort wasted in trying to wear temporary eyelashes and perfecting them.

–          The risk of your own eyelashes falling down is high. However, you will get them back in 4 weeks.

–          You don’t take them off on your own, this procedure should be done at the beauty center using special product.

–          When you take them off, it will take you couple of days to get used to your looks without the eyelash extension.

  1. Eyelash enhancing serums:

These are the healthiest eyelash treatment you can give for your eyelashes hands down. They guarantee lengthier lashes that are the real deal. These products are packed with conditioning peptides and fatty acids to stimulate and promote growth. The best part: they’re simple to apply, too.

Should be applied on eyelashes once a day. Results can be seen after 4 to 4 weeks. None Approx. AED 300. Can be bought from most of beauty centres. –          Must be applied on clean eyelashes (after cleaning your eyes from makeup or before wearing makeup.

–          Avoid going out in the sun while wearing the serum.

–          Apply on the serum every night on clean eyelashes.

–          Apply it every day and you will see the results in 3 to 4 weeks.

–          The result is fuller, curlier, and longer lashes.

–          In my opinion this is the best solution to get your eyelashes back to norm after wearing semi-permanent eyelashes sets for so long.

–          I have sensitive eyes, but the serum I’m using did not cause any side effect. However, I would recommend that you consult a doctor before using it.
